Period-Correct, Not Period-Flavoured
Pre-1900 brick is smaller, softer, and more irregular than modern modular brick, and it was laid in lime mortar. Repairs made with hard modern brick and Portland-rich mortar do visible damage to the original fabric around them. The right repair starts with the right brick.
We stock antique brick from structures dating roughly 1870 to 1940, plus salvaged flagstone, European stone, architectural elements, and roofing slate-and we will tell you when we cannot match something rather than sell you a near miss.

Period-correct dimensions
Antique brick is not modern modular size. Structures from roughly 1870–1940 have their own dimensions, and matching the size matters as much as matching the colour.
Softer brick for soft walls
Putting a hard modern brick into a soft historic wall causes damage. We match hardness to the existing fabric, not just the face colour.
Mortar guidance
A hard cement mortar in a soft historic wall will destroy the brick around it. We give written mortar and jointing recommendations with the order.
Architectural elements
Quoins, copings, sills, thresholds, and salvaged cut stone, not just brick — the pieces that are usually the hardest part of a restoration to find.
Roofing slate
Salvaged Vermont, Welsh, and Pennsylvania slate sorted to your existing size and thickness, in repair quantities as well as full roofs.
Documentation for review
Material described, photographed on the pallet, and documented in a form you can put in front of a review board.

Questions we get asked
Will your brick satisfy a historic district review?
Very often, because genuine period material is exactly what most review boards are asking for — but the board decides, not us. Send us what the guidance requires and we will supply the material description, the source period, and photographs of the reserved stock so you can make the case properly.
Why does mortar matter so much?
Because mortar is meant to be the sacrificial element. Historic brick is soft and works by letting moisture move through the joint; a hard modern cement mortar traps that moisture and forces it out through the face of the brick instead, which spalls it. Match the mortar to the brick and the wall lasts. Get it wrong and you damage the thing you were trying to preserve.

Yes, and it is some of the most satisfying work we do. That is what our custom sourcing service is for — we work demolition contractors in the Gulf South and Midwest and English and French salvage yards, and come back with what is genuinely findable, at what price, on what date.
