A slate roof does not fail all at once. It fails in patches, and the only repair that disappears is a slate of the same quarry, colour, size, and thickness. We hold salvaged roofing slate and work with a dedicated reclaimed roofing and slate operation for larger restoration scopes.

Repair quantities welcome
A slate roof fails in patches, not all at once. A few dozen slates to make a dormer right is a normal order here.
Sound stock only
Salvaged slate is ring-tested and sorted before it ships, and holed or re-holed as required. Delaminating slate does not leave the yard.

For larger restoration scopes we work with a dedicated reclaimed roofing and slate operation, so a full roof is within reach rather than being turned away.

Can you match my existing slate exactly?
Send the size of your existing slate, the exposure, and a photograph of the roof, and we will tell you honestly what we can match and in what quantity. Vermont, Welsh, and Pennsylvania are the sources we hold; commonly 18" × 10" through 24" × 14".
Do you install?
No — we supply material, not labour. Slate is specialised work and worth a specialist. For larger restoration scopes we work with a dedicated reclaimed roofing and slate operation and can point you in their direction.
Is reclaimed slate as good as new?
Sound salvaged slate is frequently better than new. The slate that has already survived a hundred years on a roof has proven itself, whereas some modern imported slate has not. The critical thing is the sorting — which is why we ring-test rather than assume.
