Where Traffic and Weather Win Arguments
Belgian block and granite setts were cut to survive iron-shod wheels on nineteenth-century streets. They will handle a truck in your motor court without blinking. Used as edging, they protect the pavement beside them by taking the load at the weakest point—the edge.
Common uses: driveway aprons and borders, motor courts, gutters and swales, tree surrounds, garden steps, and courtyard paving with wide raked joints.

Questions we get asked
How deep does the base need to be for a driveway?
Vehicular work wants a concrete bed and haunch rather than a sand set — the depth depends on your soil, drainage, and the loads you expect, so it is a question for your contractor or engineer, not a number we can give you sight unseen. Pedestrian work is far more forgiving and runs on compacted screenings.
Can I use cobbles for a whole driveway?
Yes, and they will outlive the house. Be aware that a full sett driveway is a rougher ride and a bigger install cost than brick, which is why many projects use setts for the apron, borders, and motor court and brick for the field.
Do you sell by the pallet or by the ton?
Stone paving is generally sold by the square foot, with setts running roughly 5–6 per sq.ft and Belgian block covering about 3 linear feet per 10 pieces as edging. Everything ships wrapped and banded on pallets. Tell us the area and the use and we will convert it to a quantity and a freight quote.
